Caring for your blades
|
High-carbon steel blades should be kept clean, dry and lightly oiled or waxed. Mineral oil (baby oil) or clove oil are good to use. Avoid using water based preservatives. Blades should never be stored in a leather sheath, the tannins in leather are corrosive and leather can hold a lot of moisture that will rust the blade within a day. Check and clean the blade regularly, at least once a month.
